We swim into the pixels of this NASA picture of the Bight of Acklins. This lagoon takes a bite out of Acklins Island, one of the Bahamas.
The bay separates two islands—Crooked Island and Acklins Island. On both islands there are long, smooth beaches and limestone caves surrounding the remnants of abandoned cotton plantations.
We are looking almost straight down, nearly vertical, as our satellite passes overhead.
In the warm, shallow water below, we see light blues and greens, hinting at many small sand banks, channels, shoals, grassy areas, and algal reefs. But just outside the islands, we can see a sudden dropoff to depths of more than 1000 feet, indicated by the dark blues.
But the picture is an illusion, built out of a thousand tiny pixels, processed and rebuilt to imitate what we might actually see, if we were riding the satellite. I decompose to see the beauty of the data within the image.

Process
We print on aluminum, then protect the surface with a matte lamination. We attach mounting hardware to the back, and add the artist's signature on a label identifying the picture, and giving its number in the edition.
We package the print in tissue paper and extra layers of cardboard. We ship via US Priority Mail, insured.
Please allow two weeks for printing, packaging, and shipping.
When you receive your order, please check to make sure that the picture is just what you are hoping for. If you have any problem with the picture, please contact jonathanreeveprice@gmail.com. Within 14 days of delivery, we accept returns for a full refund.
These images work best without a frame. Each print comes with mounting hardware already attached to the back, so you can hang it up right away. No need for wiring, or framing.
